With almost 20 years of valuable experience in the real estate business on the Costa del Sol, we can offer our expertise to our clients wishing to purchase or invest in property in the Fuengirola/Marbella region.

Costs when you buy a home on the Costa del Sol:

When are you buying a property on the Costa del Sol, it is important to know the costs related to the purchase. The first thing to know is the transfer tax and that is an increasing percentage between 8% and 10% of the property price.

So if you buy a property below 400,000 EUR, you pay 8% in taxes, if you buy a property between 400,000-700,000 EUR, you pay 9% and for all properties with a value over 700,000 EUR, you pay 10% . . It is also very important to have a good lawyer when buying a property in Spain. Attorneys fees are normally around 1% of the propertys price.

And then it has several legal costs that include NIE (if you are a foreigner), power of attorney, notarial fees, registration in the property registry, change of ownership of water and electricity contracts, etc., and that is usually around 3000 EUR in total.
